Leisure Centres

From May 2019, Everyone Active took over the management of Hermitage Leisure Centre and Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido, in partnership with North West Leicestershire District Council. This was part of the Leisure Centres Project aimed at offering value for money leisure services for North West Leicestershire residents. The project included a £1.2 million refurbishment of Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido and the brand new £22.5 million Whitwick and Coalville Leisure Centre which opened in February 2022, 5 months ahead of schedule. There are a number of shared outcomes that Everyone Active and NWLDC are aiming to achieve through the partnership which include;

• Providing high quality services and facilities
• Improving the health and wellbeing of residents
• Reducing health inequalities within the district
• Providing local economic benefit
• Supporting safe and inclusive neighbourhoods
• Educating, protecting and providing opportunities for young people
• Ensuring sustainability and environmental improvements

The refurbishment of Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido  included;

• A brand new state of the art 70 station fitness suite
• A new fitness studio
• A new spin studio
• A new function room
• New village style pool changing
• Refurbished changing rooms and toiletds
• Refurbished reception area

Who are Everyone Active?

Part of Sports and Leisure Management Ltd, Everyone Active is the longest-established leisure contractor in the UK, having been founded in 1987.

They have made it their mission to encourage everyone they come into contact with to participate in at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity, either in one of their centres or via online training, five times per week.

To help them achieve this mission, they manage over 190 leisure and cultural centres across the UK in partnership with more than 60 different local authorities.

They are passionate about being active and staying healthy, and they want their members to be too. Swimming Lessons

Everyone Active offer Swimming Lessons for people of all ages and abilities, including lesson stages across the board. They have swimming lessons available from 5-18 months, providing an introduction to water movement. They have lessons for 19 - 36 months, leading towards independent swimming. They have pre school stage 1 right up to competition stage 10, with each stage targeting and building different areas of swimming development.
