What are Community Rights?
Through the Localism Act in 2011 it allows for members of the community to have a greater influence in how their communities are shaped in the future.
This could be saving local services, delivering a service better to the community or managing the built enviroment and having the ability to decide what is built.
These rights that have been devolved from Government to the local communities came into effect in 2012, they are as follows:
- Community Right to Bid - Asset of Community Value
- Community Right to Challenge
- Neighbourhood Planning
- Community Right to Build
