Project summary

After careful study and speaking with those who use the New Bardon Community Venue, we have planned one of the most needed, and exciting projects in this area for a long time.

If successful, we will develop our venue into a true 'community centre' that includes a garden, ice cream parlour, community café, kitchen, disabled toilets and baby changing area.

With these newly refurbished spaces inside and out, we will be able to offer more jobs alongside increased activities and services for local people.

These new areas will mean we are able to build on the success of our boxing gym, arts classes, education programme and social club. Our new opportunities for learning and recreation will include, but not be limited to:

• A community garden (a communal space to be kept by local volunteers both young and old)
• A community café, kitchen and ice cream parlour (a place for us to train local apprentices)
• Disabled toilets and baby changing area (to facilitate the greater number of families attending).

Since the 1940s our building has hosted important social and sporting events locally, with this work completed, we will guarantee this and more for generations to come.
