District council services
We have robust preparations in place and our priority is to keep all our key services running and support our communities in every way we can.
We’ll post regular updates on this page to keep you informed of how our services are running.
Please remember that services such as education, roads and adult social care are services provided by Leicestershire County Council.
Customer services and contacting us
Our council offices are open to visitors, but we ask that you only visit if absolutely necessary and we are prioritising phone and email contact, and seeing customers face to face with pre-arranged appointments.
Many of our services are available online through MyAccount - this is the quickest and easiest way to access the majority of our services.
Alternatively, please contact us on 01530 454545 or by email at customer.services@nwleicestershire.gov.uk - our lines are open between 8.45 am and 5pm Monday to Friday except Thursdays when we are open 9.30am and 5pm.
Waste collections
Covid outbreaks and the need for staff to isolate is putting a lot of pressure on our waste teams currently.
Our teams are working harder than ever and we’re pleased to say our waste and recycling collections are not currently affected.
In the short term we may be a little slower collecting the fly tips you report, delivering new bins you request and have longer wait times on bulky waste collections.
Please bear with us – and please don’t litter or fly tip! If you see offences committed – still report them online – we may just be a little slower at responding than normal. Thank you for your support.
Unemptied red boxes? Due to recent health and safety concerns, glass will only be collected when it is separated from your plastic / cans / tins.
Please note, we are unable to take side or additional waste next to black bins. We are not able to offer this as we only have the staffing and operational capacity to empty waste from inside black bins. We thank you for your understanding.
