Homeless and Rough Sleeping Strategy
Not having a home or living somewhere that is unsafe or unsuitable can have a devastating effect on individuals and families. We want to ensure that we are taking the right approach to preventing homelessness and rough sleeping and supporting those who become homeless.
We are reviewing our current homeless services and will launch a new Strategy for the next five years by January 2024
Consultation with customers, residents and the wider public July - August 2023

Allocations Policy
There is a limited supply of social housing in North West Leicestershire so we need to make sure that the right homes go to the right people. Our Allocations Policy sets the rules regarding who is accepted for housing and also how we prioritise and match applicants to available properties through our Choice Based Lettings Scheme. The demand for social housing changes through time so we have to regularly review our Policy to ensure we continue to treat people fairly, manage demand and plan for the future.
We are reviewing our current Allocations approach and will launch a new Policy by January 2024
