Why is Physical Activity Important for Adults?
Adults should aim to be active for 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity per week. Moderate intensity means your heart rate increases, but you can still hold a conversation. Aim for strength and balance exercise on 2 days a week. Being physically active has countless benefits to both your body and your mind. Adults who can make physical activity part of their daily routines are healthier and less likely to develop chronic conditions, such as Type 2 Diabetes, in later life.
