The Ashby Project
The Ashby Project has come about as a result of the work on the Ashby Neighbourhood Plan. Consultations for the plan brought up lots of good suggestions for Ashby which could not be taken on within the plan but have been picked up by Ashby Town Council and North West Leicestershire District Council.
The project is overseen by a project board run by Jack Fargher, clerk to Ashby Town Council and Jo Holland, the project manager. There are several stakeholder groups which are working on different aspects of the project, eg the culture and leisure quarter group, the heritage group and the business group.
The culture and leisure quarter is concentrating on the area around North Street in Ashby. This area will undergo some exciting changes starting with the creation of a new 52 space car park / multi functional area on the site of the former health centre.
