Noise control

We will carry out a sound test on:

  • Thursday 13 June, 3-6.30pm

This test helps us to set the sound levels. Some residents may experience disturbance during this test. One of our noise officers will be there throughout the sound test.

Both the musical performances and the campsite are subject to a licence issued by North West Leicestershire District Council and numerous controls have been duly imposed. Our officers will monitor noise levels at key times during the event.

Although noise limits are in place, we expect some residents to be able to hear noise from the event. The noise limits have been set to prevent a public nuisance - they are not expected to prevent the event being heard at the surrounding residential properties.

If you wish to complain during the event

If you are experiencing unreasonable levels of noise during the event you can contact the 24 hour call centre on 020 7980 4311

This is an emergency response service. Please do not call this number simply to report that you can hear noise from the event.

If you do need to call the emergency number, your concerns will be logged and dealt with by our call centre. With your permission, your concerns will be immediately communicated to the event organiser on site.

Please note, we will not respond to individual complaints during the event itself. We will focus on monitoring the noise levels and investigating any problems with the event organiser.

We will respond to any complaints after the event and will produce a report detailing the findings of monitoring carried out and report this to the licensing department.

For all other enquiries, contact the Download Festival customer services team directly at
