What is the Partial Review?
The Partial Review sought solely to amend Policy S1 (and supporting text) of the adopted Local Plan.
Why was the Partial Review required?
A report outlining the reasons for undertaking the review in two parts was taken to the Council’s Cabinet on 16 July 2019.
What was the process for the Partial Review?
A pre-submission document was published for consultation between 20 November 2019 and 8 January 2020.

Following the consultation and consideration of the comments made, the Council submitted the Partial Review to the Planning Inspectorate on 18 February 2020. Details of the Examination can be found from the link below.
Following the Examination hearings which were held in September 2020, the Council published proposed Modifications to the submitted Partial Review Plan. More information can be found on the Partial Review Examination page.
The Council received the final Inspector's Report in respect of the Examination of the Partial Review and, subject to a number of Main Modifications, the Inspector found the review to be ‘sound’.
The North West Leicestershire Local Plan (as amended by the Partial Review) was adopted at Council on 16 March 2021.
