People Zone

People Zones is an initiative that is designed to build on the positivity and skills of communities around Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to make these areas safer for everyone.

Nobody knows communities like those who live in them, and by using their knowledge of what is needed in these areas, we can strive to work together to fill gaps in provisions and ensure everyone has access to the community assets they need.

Warm Spaces

Community centres such as libraries and community hubs are opening their doors to provide a warm space for communities amid the cost of living crisis.

For support and services provided by North West Leicestershire Distrcit Council's Housing department, please see the housing page. 

Food Banks

A number of food banks operate across the district. The Trussell Trust runs the Ashby and Coalville food banks that also visit surrounding areas. Contact our customer service team on 01530 454545 to discuss a referral, speak to Citizens Advice or your GP.

Libraries

Libraries are the responsibility of Leicestershire County Council.

Community Centres

We have lots happening at the various community centres in North West Leicestershire, take a look at our Community Centre page for signposting to the various centres. From there, you will be able to find out what is happening at a community centre near you! 

Veterans

As long as you have a service history, or association, then you will be made welcome. Once We Were Soldiers, The Royal British Legion, and Hermitage FM Community Cafe, together with North West Leicestershire District Council are all supporting Coalville’s first Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Club.
