Depot Test Centre Guidance

The workshop/vehicle testing area is situated within a controlled site with restricted access and specific site safety rules. Upon arrival at the site please use the intercom system mounted at the pedestrian access point to request authorisation to enter the site. When authorisation has been granted, please proceed to enter the site in your vehicle via the indicated entry gates which will automatically open.

Proceed directly to the designated parking bays which are situated in front of the office block and adjacent to the garage. Park within the marked bays and always remain in your vehicle. When the staff are ready to carry out the vehicle tests you will be instructed to move your vehicle to the entrance of the designated inspection testing bay. At this point you will be asked to open all windows of the vehicle and you will be directed to a designated viewing point within the workshop where you will remain at all times during the inspection until you receive further instruction.

We will initially look at the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the vehicle prior to test commencing. If the vehicle has not been presented in a clean valeted and sanitised manner the test will be refused and a recharge fee will be applicable.

Upon completion of your test and when instructed to leave the site please do so immediately via the one-way system observing the 5mph speed limit being aware of other site users. Please also note that due to changes with the depot weighbridge, there may be a delay with you exiting. Please be patient and only use the indicated exit gates to leave the site. Please remember this is a busy site and all site rules and controls must be obeyed at all times.

We have recently had an incident whereby a driver waiting for a vehicle test decided to bring their family with them for a test.

Both the Depot and the licensing team have reviewed this and have agreed that anyone that presents for a vehicle test with family members present will be refused a test. Both the safety of our staff and licensed drivers are paramount and we appreciate your assistance in this matter.
