We are proud to be one of five councils in the region to be part of the East Midlands Development Corporation (EM DevCo).
The EM DevCo brings together public and private sector organisations who share a vision for the area’s regeneration.
Supported by the Midlands Engine, it is driving the transformation of three sites:
- The East Midlands Airport area (in North West Leicestershire)
- The Ratcliffe-on-Sour Power Station area (in Rushcliffe, Nottinghamshire)
- Toton and Chetwynd East Midlands Hub (in Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire)
This partnership is working to benefit of the whole East Midlands, providing a direct line of communication with central government and increasing our opportunity to bring investment and funding to the region.
By working closely together we can increase the scale of our vision and investment, unlocking growth at a regional scale. This means new homes, new jobs, new businesses and new infrastructure.
We have a particular focus is the East Midlands Airport area, as this lies within our boundary.
Involvement in the EM DevCo does not affect the decision-making process of the district council.
